Moogles by GeekyCookies

This week we’re baking up something delicious at G33Kmade… in the form of Leo Diaz’s geeky nomz: GeekyCookies.com!

Leo is the mastermind behind the edible geeky artwork that is GeekyCookies.com and bakes fresh, geeky nomz daily out of Salt Lake City, UT. These awesome treats are enjoyed by geeks all over the United States, with plans to ship to Canada in the near future. His custom cookies are handmade and based on all kinds of geekiness, from gaming and TV to television and internet. If it’s geeky, you can probably get it in cookie form. WHICH IS AWESOME!

Mario nomz!

I met Leo through the #geek avenues of Twitter and I love seeing the creativity he bakes up in his kitchen. Geeky crafts are cool, but when they come alive in frosting and edible goodness, I am simply blown away. The techniques and attention to detail that Leo uses to create his delicious masterpieces are simply amazing! It’s hard to pick my favorite cookie design, but I am always a sucker for anything Nintendo, so it goes without saying that I am absolutely in love with his Mario themed nomz.  These include cookies in the shape of the beloved Super Mario mushrooms, invincibility stars, and Yoshi eggs. Om nom nom nom!

INSPIRATION: I am an avid gamer and have been since I was 4 years old. I love all kinds of games from platformers like Super Mario to MMO’s like World of Warcraft. But that’s just where it all started. I’m a cartoon geek, an appreciator of Sci-Fi, lover of New Media, a tech enthusiast… the list just goes on and on. But to top it all off, I also enjoy being creative in the kitchen. Mixing my geeky interests together with the oven resulted in all the tasty nomz that you can see on my site, with many more to come! I hope you love what I have to offer, as much as I love making them!

HISTORY: GeekyCookies is my first attempt at crafting and selling geek goods and it has met with success! It took lots of trial and error to get things right and it has been such an awesome experience. I’ve spoken to and met tons of awesome geeks, crafters and just plain awesome people through GeekyCookies and that has made it even more worthwhile.

Big Daddies

Leo tells me, “I’ve always got new nomz to share so check the store often! There are also some new projects coming up you might enjoy.” We can’t wait! And not only does Leo bake epic geeky cookies, he is also hosting a Game Night (v0.1) on Sunday, June 27, 2010. Play and get 15% off your next order in the GeekyCookies shop! For more details, check out the Game Night page over at GeekyCookies.com!

Thanks for sharing your baked geeky goods with G33Kmade, Leo! I don’t know about the rest of you, but now I have a craving for cookies…
