This week we’ve got something totally awesome for you in the form of crazy fantastic geeky themed shirts and bags straight out of Baltimore, MD… threads by Robyn of Raygun Robyn!
Once again, Twitter has proven to be a HUGE tool in connecting geeks all over the world, because it was through geeky handmade conversations on Twitter that I stumbled upon Robyn and her amazing work in the first place. Thank you, Twitter!
So how does she make this magnificent wearable art? Robyn uses a bleaching technique paired with laser cut stencils to bring her geeky passions to life in the fabric of shirts, hoodies, and bags. She uses such fine precision in the cutting of her stencils in order to bring as much detail into her design as possible. The best part about bleached prints is that the design is permanent and will never fade or bleed, so you can be sure that your original piece will look awesome FOREVER. No really. Forever! Speaking of bleaching, this technique allows Robyn instant artistic satisfaction and makes it easy for her to test out designs quickly to see where possible adjustments need to be made as she develops new pieces. I love that Robyn’s creations are one-of-a-kind and that no two fabric prints are exactly the same; the placement and flair of each is always something special and unique. She’ll even work with you on custom items and orders!

INSPIRATION: As a young latchkey kid, I turned to scifi to make sure I didn’t get into trouble. It didn’t really work, but now I love aliens, monsters and robots! So everyone wins!!
HISTORY: I’ve always been crafty and after art school and realizing that a normal job will never suffice, I turned to my art to pave my way to internet celebrity! When that failed I decided to just make really awesome shirts and try to get people to buy them. Its turned out okay so far.
COMMENTS: My tattoos are super dorky, my hand currently hurts from playing Borderlands all weekend and I can’t wait for Cataclysm to come out. I think I’m gonna make a goblin hunter, or maybe a Death Knight cuz that would be funny, but I’d also like to see the new lowbie content. So we’ll see. Thanks! -RR
Thank you for sharing your talented creations with us, Robyn! G33Kmade is so happy to have you here and hopes everyone takes a moment to gawk and awe at her brilliance over in her shop. Tentacles, TARDIS, Serenity and robots? YES PLEASE!
